I know you have seen her walking downtown, the poor diminutive black woman, barefoot during sweltering temperatures.
The temperatures of the concrete and asphalt reach temperatures well over one hundred and forty degrees, temperature's no human flesh can stand.
Soon she will not be able to walk.
I know you have seen her downtown business owners, talking to herself, her nutritional deficits causing the skin on her face to pull back, shockingly reminiscent of a starving African woman you may have seen on television during "Save the children" advertisements.
Except this woman lives in Redding's back alleys and dumpster cans and garbage bins being the main provider of sustenance and shelter.
I know you have seen her struggling downtown Redding California police officers, one of the few you leave downtown, unwilling or unable to offer any kind of help. Perhaps you feel she would contaminate you or your patrol vehicle?
Even so, as I have witnessed you tell other homeless individuals Redding police officers, would your advice to her be to stay out of city limits, out by Old Millhouse Deli location?
Which of course is the last resting place for several of our homeless ... And their bones.
Redding Christian - Tell me have you seen her?
