"No Mercy" For Redding California Homeless In This Canyon

Redding Martin Luther King Jr Park

Is it any wonder the city of "Redding tells group it can't feed homeless"?

Martin Luther King Park is basically at the mouth of Mercy Hospital canyon, and all the way up as far as the eye can see a multitude of homeless tents and makeshift shelters litter the hillside.

Instead of racial segregation, economic racism it is now born out of sheer cold economic necessity, the need to survive.

Redding Mercy Canyon Homeless

Sadly, discrimination is intensified by local television news reports portraying homeless people as substandard and unhuman.

For years Redding's "black only" community lived here segregated from the rest of the city, complete with own bar, grocery store, laundry, etc...

Behind Redding MLK neighborhood - The New Homeless "Coon Canyon"

Fascinating how now Redding's perceived undesirables are forced to live and survive there now.

Redding Mercy Canyon Homeless

Ripe for exploitation, there has been unfortunately, evidence of homeless infants and children.

Secluded enough, that rapes and murders have occurred there as well.

What has City of Redding and Shasta County Supervisors done with all the millions they received from Sacramento declaring a homeless shelter crisis?

Redding California Police Raid / Destroy Homeless Camp Under Cypress St Bridge

Homeless Take Shelter Under Redding Cypress Street Bridge

Unbelievable, Redding Police have destroyed the homeless camp under Cypress St Bridge during a declared City and County homeless shelter crisis emergency!
Businesses should be angry at Shasta County Supervisors who according to Redding City Manager Barry Tippin on KQMS radio interview got 48 million declaring a homeless shelter crisis and the City of Redding got millions more, yet nothing is being done.

We could have a state-of-the-art homeless shelter addressing mental, physical, and spiritual needs. He also said Shasta County Health and Human Services was contracted by City of Redding to take care of our mental Health needs sometime in the 1950s.
Furthermore, I nor City of Redding Community police officer Bob Brannon who cleaned up homeless camps for years WOULD NEVER STAY at the place called Good News Rescue Mission... Would you?

City of Redding's Hostility Towards Homeless Causes Physical AND Spiritual Death

*VIDEO - BREAKING
- Police Raid / Destroy Redding Homeless Camp Under Cypress St Bridge During Declared Shelter Crisis

Indifference, hostility, death and vigilante violence are just some of the City of Redding and local businesses tactics used to combat an ever-increasing homeless crisis.

Homeless are dying on Redding streets in plain sight, and human suffering can only go on for so long, then inevitable occurs....

"Marcus" deceased LuLu's parking lot

Over the years the City of Redding with the help of Bethel Church has cut down beautiful trees in hopes of homeless moving along out of camps and shaded areas.

Fences have been built, boulders in place, benches destroyed where folks took refuge around the downtown post office and the Veterans Hall next store.

Not to mention parks have been completely fenced and businesses that have installed gates that protect the entranceways and chance of getting out of the rain and elements.

"Sonic mosquito's are used by the Eureka Way 7 Eleven to drive the homeless souls that congregate again hoping for a means of shelter and charitable sustenance.

Even the ex-mayor of Redding who now runs the Colt 45 baseball team in South City Park wants to turn the sprinklers on sleeping homeless should security guards find them in the park!

Is it because again they desire to build a homeless prison?

Redding Shasta County Homeless Charity Touching Others During Shelter Crisis

Vince Pesce

Redding folks are stepping up giving comfort to the needy as they see the tremendous suffering of our homeless community.

One of those fantastic folks is Vince Pesce, and you can find him on Facebook.

Vince is organizing a fundraiser and is "matching donations received and giving regular updates on how the money is spent."

Vince goes out into the community and touches the poor and less fortunate with comfort and goodie bags!

"Mostly hoodies, ponchos, beanies, scarves, gloves and socks, but also pizza and or sandwiches."

It appears these goodie bags" also contain delicious, tasty treats.

So important are these grassroot charities of comfort especially as you look around and see so many in distress on our streets and under bridges during this homeless shelter crisis.

Wont you consider helping Vince by a donation to his "Feed and clothe the homeless in my community, organized by Vince Pesce" gofundme page, or a donation that would bless Vince and the bags he distributes?

Redding Shasta County California Homeless Ministries Reach Out During Shelter Crisis

MLK Ministry

With the removal of the Shasta County Homeless Continuum of Care leader, the state of homeless folks in Redding and Shasta County is in complete disarray.

And with Sacramento giving out millions and millions to Redding and Shasta County California to alleviate the emergency, nobody can seem to give an account of the money, or where it was spent.

Jaclyn Disney Director Department of Housing and Community Action Programs

Homeless are everywhere...

Local compassionate Christians and non-Christian's alike are stepping up to fill the ever-increasing void as homeless suffering in our community continue to fall through the gap.

Homeless camp under Cypress St bridge

Grassroot charities have been reaching out desperately trying to fill this void.

One group instead of helping them was hit with City of Redding rules and regulations at the Martin Luther King Center and park in which they served.

Jerry Harral and "Skippy"

Undaunted, MLK Ministries and its leaders certainly could use your donations and financial support.

"Skippy" and Redeemed Ministry Outreach

Another fantastic ministry working closely with these folks is "Skippy" of  Redding Redeemed.

"We pick up food from the listed sources in our schedule and deliver it directly to "The Least of These" and thus, "Feed His Sheep" as requested."

Perhaps you would like an opportunity to volunteer and help others as well?

Wont you consider reaching out and helping these folks who have been helping so many others?

Redding Lighthouse Church / Ministry

Redding's
Lighthouse Church, ministry serves the poor and less fortunate homeless suffering under the Cypress Street bridge, their church, and other locations around town.

Bad News at Good News Rescue Mission Redding California's Only Homeless Shelter

Strange I believe how local news media covers up the true identity of the Good News Rescue Mission, and the horrible things that allegedly occurs there.

Personally, I have always believed it is a business really, eager to kowtow spiritually to Shasta Counties "Rome," a political subdivision of the city of Redding.

Redding Good News Rescue Mission turned away 500 people one year." 14 Degree Windchill 7 a.m.

Tweet from Redding Record Searchlight news reporter

If there is so much room at the Good News Rescue Mission reported, then why did the city of Redding California declare a
"homeless shelter crisis" receiving millions of dollars in homeless aid?

I understand Shasta County Supervisors have received over 49 million or more in homeless aid.

What has the City of Redding done with their funds?

Hire more employees in the parks department, and more equipment, and destroyed known homeless camp survival areas.

City of Redding clears brush and homeless camps near Benton Airpark

Maybe it makes the Redding police feel better to refer homeless to the only homeless rescue shelter in all of Shasta, Tehama, Lassen, and Siskiyou counties.

Why do these homeless folks prefer to sleep on painful river rocks on the Sacramento riverbed in freezing cold and howling winds than stay at the so called only "resource" the news and the Redding Police CIRT team offers aka The Good News Rescue Mission?

Is it the Violence? Drug dealing?  Nobody wears Covid masks?  Staff and volunteers stealing donations?

Is it the stench of dirty clothes, feet and other horrendous body odor?

Is it because homeless youth have been molested there? Including two foster boys who stayed there later adopted by a local Catholic family?

Is it the nasty men sleeping 2 feet away from your bed bunk masturbating?

Is it the Covid virus that ravaged the guests and staff killing Pastor Honey and Director of guest services just to name a few?

Pastor Dave Honey and Bill Hartman - Guest Services Director

Is it the bedbugs, Staph and MRSA outbreaks? Crabs and scabies infestations? Lice, The thievery? Overdose deaths?

Is it their 30 day in 30 day out policy?

Is it because Good News Rescue Mission has access to your data base through Shascom dispatch

Is it because there is nowhere for their precious pets to stay?

Is it because the Good News Rescue Mission separates families and the boys reaching a certain age must stay on males only side?

Is it because nobody should have to listen to a sermon on the false "fly away theory" or otherwise known as the "Rapture doctrine" over and over before they are allowed to eat?

Redding Homeless Good News Rescue Mission

Bad News at the Good News Rescue Mission - Redding Homeless Families With Children

I once asked Bob Brannon, Redding Police Community Service officer who dealt directly with homeless and their camps for years a question.

I said Bob, it's just you and me here, if you and your family had nowhere to go would you stay at the Good News Rescue Mission?

He responded with a resounding "no".

So why would KRCR TV News, Mike Mangas, Redding police CIRT Team, or any other TV Paper or Radio reporter suggest homeless stay at the Good News Rescue Mission?

How about being a REAL NEWS Reporter or Redding police officer go in unannounced and report on your meal, or better yet spend the night on the floor with one of their slobber covered un sanitized mats.

And quit pointing to a homeless shelter you or your family would never set foot in, let alone spend the night.

Redding Christians Serving The Homeless Under Cypress Street Bridge

Hilary from Lighthouse Church feeding Redding Homeless

"But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

What an unexpected pleasure to come across Redding's Lighthouse Church, Redeemed and Pathways ministries serving the poor and less fortunate homeless suffering under the Cypress Street bridge.

Not only a hearty delicious stew to feed the soul but conversation and offered prayer really cheered up the faces of those taking refuge from the cold and rain.

Volunteers serving homeless under Cypress Street Bridge

Some volunteers that served the homeless were at one time homeless themselves so knew firsthand the comfort and need they are providing for,
and spiritually given to those by them at one time needed spiritual comfort themselves.

Christians reaching out, filling the gap, and providing the basic services and lifesaving needs Redding City Council and Shasta County Supervisors cannot or will not give.

It was a complete privilege to witness. Please consider making a Donation
