Bad News at Good News Rescue Mission Redding California's Only Homeless Shelter

Strange I believe how local news media covers up the true identity of the Good News Rescue Mission, and the horrible things that allegedly occurs there.

Personally, I have always believed it is a business really, eager to kowtow spiritually to Shasta Counties "Rome," a political subdivision of the city of Redding.

If there is so much room at the Good News Rescue Mission reported, then why did the city of Redding California declare a
"homeless shelter crisis" receiving millions of dollars in homeless aid?

I understand Shasta County Supervisors have received over 49 million or more in homeless aid.

What has the City of Redding done with their funds?

Hire more employees in the parks department, and more equipment, and destroyed known homeless camp survival areas.

Maybe it makes the Redding police feel better to refer homeless to the only homeless rescue shelter in all of Shasta, Tehama, Lassen, and Siskiyou counties.

Why do these homeless folks prefer to sleep on painful river rocks on the Sacramento riverbed in freezing cold and howling winds than stay at the so called only "resource" the news and the Redding Police CIRT team offers aka The Good News Rescue Mission?

Is it the Violence? Drug dealing?  Nobody wears Covid masks?  Staff and volunteers stealing donations?

Is it the stench of dirty clothes, feet and other horrendous body odor?

Is it because homeless youth have been molested there? Including two foster boys who stayed there later adopted by a local Catholic family?

Is it the nasty men sleeping 2 feet away from your bed bunk masturbating?

Is it the Covid virus that ravaged the guests and staff killing Pastor Honey and Director of guest services just to name a few?

Pastor Dave Honey and Bill Hartman - Guest Services Director

Is it the bedbugs, Staph and MRSA outbreaks? Crabs and scabies infestations? Lice, The thievery? Overdose deaths?

Is it their 30 day in 30 day out policy?

Is it because Good News Rescue Mission has access to your data base through Shascom dispatch

Is it because there is nowhere for their precious pets to stay?

Is it because the Good News Rescue Mission separates families and the boys reaching a certain age must stay on males only side?

Is it because nobody should have to listen to a sermon on the false "fly away theory" or otherwise known as the "Rapture doctrine" over and over before they are allowed to eat?

Bad News at the Good News Rescue Mission - Redding Homeless Families With Children

I once asked Bob Brannon, Redding Police Community Service officer who dealt directly with homeless and their camps for years a question.

I said Bob, it's just you and me here, if you and your family had nowhere to go would you stay at the Good News Rescue Mission?

He responded with a resounding "no".

So why would KRCR TV News, Mike Mangas, Redding police CIRT Team, or any other TV Paper or Radio reporter suggest homeless stay at the Good News Rescue Mission?

How about being a REAL NEWS Reporter or Redding police officer go in unannounced and report on your meal, or better yet spend the night on the floor with one of their slobber covered un sanitized mats.

And quit pointing to a homeless shelter you or your family would never set foot in, let alone spend the night.
