Redding Makes Washington DC National Law Center Homeless Civil Rights Hall of Shame List

WoW ! Congratulations Redding California !

Washington DC
National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty has identified seven especially harmful policies and has included Redding California in its NATIONAL HALL OF SHAME in its Housing not Handcuffs 2019 Report !

"The National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty (Law Center) is the only national organization dedicated to using the power of the law to end and prevent homelessness. The Law Center works to expand access to affordable housing, meet the immediate and long-term needs of those who are homeless or at risk, and strengthen the social safety-net through policy advocacy, public education, impact litigation, and legal training and support.

The Law Center recognizes that communities struggle with difficult policy choices over how to reduce homelessness and often pursue a combination of good (constructive) and bad (destructive) policies. Rather than call out individual governments for being the best or worst, we have identified particularly bad policies and/or practices of certain governments to include in our Hall of Shame.

This year, the Law Center has identified seven especially harmful policies, enacted by: Ocala, Florida; Sacramento, California; Wilmington, Delaware; Kansas City, Missouri; Redding, California; the State of Texas; and the United States federal government"

Governor Newsom On Redding California Homeless Prison "Whether You Like It Or Not"

"Whether You Like It Or Not"

These are chilling words from California Governor Gavin Newsom coming back to haunt the poor and disenfranchised homeless of Redding and the rest of the state of California.

Now Governor Newsom says changes are coming for the state's prison and jail system, and it looks like he has been working on it for quite some time.

"I have spent the last six or so months, not a gross exaggeration, assembled a team of experts to look at re-imagining a 21st century criminal justice system."

"So we're looking at step down facilities."

So one might ask is the recent firestorm of controversy directed at Redding Mayor Julie Winter and the idea of forced incarceration of homeless and conservatorship of their finances part of a much larger plan to have facilities placed up and down
the state of California with Redding the far northern planned facility?

Is this a result of Trump looking at crackdown on homelessness as aides visited California?

Something tantamount to a middle ages debtors prison to go with the medieval plagues that are surfacing as well Redding Mayor Winter?

"And as California goes so goes the rest of the nation"....

Jail Homeless - Redding Separation of Church and Hate

"So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’  He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’  But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them."

Who could ever have imagined it?

Never before has the prosperity gospel, which contains no wealth at all, would rear its ugly spiritual head in such a fashion from north state political leadership, causing a global international awakening?

And Redding California is ground zero...

Is it possible that in the mind of Redding California mayor and Bethel church leader Julie Winter that to many her plan is illegal, immoral, and down right diabolical?

"Winter drafted a letter to Gov. Gavin Newsom asking that he declare a state of emergency in Redding because of homelessness. The declaration could free up state funds that are typically reserved for natural disasters such as wildfires. Winter says there are about 3,000 homeless people in Shasta County."

Perhaps we can better understand Mayor Julie Winter through a video.

Take a closer look at the world wide phenomena known as Bethel church, school, and supernatural ministry  and ask yourself would you want what many call a cult in your town or city ?

BILL JOHNSON, BETHEL the NEW AGE - Shocking - Kundalini Warning - False spirits - Andrew Strom

“You need to get clean, you need to get sober, you need to demonstrate self-sufficiency. And once you do that, you’re free to go," said Redding Mayor Julie Winter.

Oh it gets even more frightening...

"In the letter, Winter requests Newsom allow Redding to take conservatorship of homeless people’s finances if they’re deemed mentally unfit to manage their lives."

One key element that the prosperity gospel leaves out is much of Gods Word, and it seems in the minds and spirit of Mayor Winter and those that attend Bethel it does not matter

"Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?  But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts?  Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called?"

Something tantamount to a middle ages debtors prison to go with the medieval plagues that are surfacing as well Mayor Winter?

Is this part of Jesus Christ great commission ? Just who do you "fish" for ? Are you welcoming light of the Christian faith ? Set in the window for all to see? Can you fish with a hammer?

"And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen."

Even more so is God doing something big in Redding through Bethel Church ?

Oh yes, but will the outcome be what those that attend Bethel church expect?

And will it be forgiven of them for driving those already hurt by the "church" away, and proclaim an "I told you so" fear further driving a wedge between unbelievers and the One True Jesus Christ?

You will know they are Christians by their Love ...

World Homeless Day 2019 - Redding Light House Church and Homeless Ministry

1090 California St

It is with great pleasure to announce Redding Coalition for the Homeless  is seeking donations during World Homeless Day and through the holidays for Redding Light House Church and Homeless Ministry ! This fantastic Christian church and ministry is meeting the spiritual as well as physical needs of the homeless community at the street level.

With your help we can reach those with Love and Compassion that live on our streets in a time when "abundance rejoices and want is keenly felt."

A Holiday season were homeless experience never before seen levels of criminalization, where shade and refuge trees from summer heat are cut down, and every nook and building cranny is fenced off or gated to prevent taking shelter.

Horrible vigilante violence has been carried out against homeless, and groups have attacked men and women especially when they are asleep. If that is you or somebody you know please...

Redding and Shasta County No New Tax for New Jails Group

Redding and Shasta County is suffering a homeless shelter crisis, and its police have been dispensing "cruel and unusual punishment" for years writing tickets for homeless "camping."

Martin v. City of Boise says cities can’t punish the homeless for sleeping outdoors or on public property.

We are Shasta County citizens opposing a 2020 ballot initiative to increase the sales tax to build new jails and or police ran detention rehabilitation centers.

Anderson Police Chief Johnson "Stalag" homeless "solution"

Anderson police 'embrace' pigdom during Chinese Year of the Pig

Say NO to Anderson California police Chief Johnson and his proposal for a transitional rehabilitation center in Shasta County. Seems anything but Christian....even Anti Christ since a federal court affirms cities can’t criminalize homelessness.

“The idea of forcing homeless people into detention facilities through some kind federally led, law enforcement/military style effort is also inhumane and grotesque, and does not appear to have been thought out so hopefully that is not actually the strategy.”

"The court can’t force cities to build adequate shelter space or homeless housing, but it can make it unconstitutional for them to criminalize homelessness until that burden has been met."

Say NO to Good News Rescue Mission having anything to do with a desperately needed new low barrier homeless shelter. It is believed the Good News Rescue Mission has become a political subdivision of the City of Redding.

Redding Downtown Post Office Completely Fenced Off To Homeless

Due to homeless seeking shelter at the downtown Redding California
United States Post Office at night behind walls of disabled wheelchair
ramps it is now completely fenced with gates and no trespassing signs
only unlocked during hours of operation. Redding certainly seems to be
suffering from a homeless shelter emergency.

Redding Homeless Blog - Marcus

Oh how I believe the powers that be at the City of Redding wish it happened a different way.

Most homeless folks that die on the streets are invisible and forgotten, a team is dispatched and the corpse is collected, area cleansed of any unpleasantness, and nobody would know why you have now vanished.

What is more tragic is the fact in most instances you will be listed as a John or Jane Doe and their will not be any trail to find the tragic tale you even ever existed.

Not this time...

Marcus - Corner LuLu's Restaurant - Deceased

You see even I did not know that the photos I took of him desperately trying to shine the light on the plight of his condition would be later determined to be photos of Marcus dead.  So many homeless folks laying around Redding's streets at that hour, how can one determine who may be laying their sleeping, or a motionless corpse?

Marcus - Corner LuLu's Restaurant

So many homeless folks...

I suppose a corpse with his pants half down laying motionless has now shockingly become the Redding California norm, with people driving by Marcus's corpse on the side of the road on a busy Saturday night on Reddings downtown Market street like the motionless city of Redding metal roadside salmon art that sits in the median of Market street... Oblivious

Take a early morning drive around Redding, one really cant blame the night shift of the Redding police department for the "corpses" because there are bodies laying all over Redding's sidewalks and streets at that hour, sometimes with their head in the gutter, like Marcus.

Marcus - Safeway

The fact of the matter is City of Redding and Shasta County mental health officials left Marcus, a handicapped disabled double amputee homeless man to sit in the harsh elements and suffer on its streets until he was dead.

Not quietly, not invisibly , and not forgotten, much to the angry chagrin of many I know.

Marcus - Safeway

Marcus had told be he too had been beaten and robbed by Redding youth, and he like many now are so afraid to be attacked by Reddings notorious anti homeless vigilantes as well as robbers and thieves that pray on Reddings most vulnerable homeless population.

Oh did I mention it is now a crime to be homeless in Redding as well ?

They sleep in the light of Reddings sidewalks because like Marcus did they feel safer and believe if they are attacked there would be witnesses and the faintest chance you or I might stop and intervene should we drive by.

Until the weather changed and the sprinklers came on Marcus found such comfort in the Safeway parking lot and sidewalk.

Please dont tell me you have never seen him...

Marcus - Safeway

Marcus - Safeway - Hospital Discharge Bag on Chair

What can we learn from Marcus's tragic demise?  Well there is a huge hole in Redding and Shasta Counties social safety net, he certainly is not alone. Many homeless here in Redding are in the condition of Marcus's last days, about to be another Redding roadside homeless corpse.

Just another bizarre piece of morbid motionless roadside art...
