Redding Homeless Blog

"Whether You Like It Or Not" These are chilling words from California Governor Gavin Newsom coming back to haunt the poor and disenfranchised homeless of Redding and the rest of the state of California. Now Governor Newsom says changes are coming for the state's prison and jail system, and it looks like he has been working on it for quite some time. "I have spent the last six or so months, not a gross exaggeration, assembled a team of experts to look at re-imagining a 21st century criminal justice system." "So we're looking at step down facilities." So one might ask is the recent firestorm of controversy directed at Redding Mayor Julie Winter and the idea of forced incarceration of homeless and conservatorship of their finances part of a much larger plan to have facilities placed up and down the state of California with Redding the far northern planned facility? Is this a result of Trump looking at crackdown on homelessness as aides ...

Redding Mayor and Bethel Mega-Church Elder Julie Winter recently sent a letter to Governor Newsome asking the State to fund what is basically a concentration camp for the area's three thousand homeless people, where they would be forced to stay until they can somehow manage to become housed and "self-sufficient" Under this proposal homeless detainees would also be deprived of whatever meager income they may have until the government agents in charge are convinced that the homeless person will only spend their money on what these agents deem acceptable. The obvious illegalities of her fascist proposal aside, she failed to acknowledge that Redding's rental market is nearly non-existent, and that the local rental vacancy rate was less than two percent even before last year's devastating fires. Nor did she mention that the thousands of Bethel adherents who have flooded the area in recent years are - to a notable extent - responsible for Redding's severe...

"So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’  He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’  But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them." Who could ever have imagined it? Never before has the prosperity gospel, which contains no wealth at all, would rear its ugly spiritual head in such a fashion from north state political leadership, causing a global international awakening? And Redding California is ground zero... Is it possible that in the mind of Redding California mayor and Bethel church leader Julie Winter that to many her plan is illegal, immoral, and down right diabolical? Holding ppl experiencing #homelessness until they exhibit Mayor Julie Winter’s idea of self-sufficiency is inhumane & hostile. @EricTars said: “Now it seems like wh...

Oh how money talks in this day and age, and who and what we are able to spiritually overlook turning our collective backs in pursuit of it is just astounding. Never before has the concept of the separation of church and state came more into focus as what appears to be a complete and total take over of our community by the mega force and church known as Bethel. Outrage from community members at the growing Parkview homeless camp, the Redding community watched as the city of Redding with its Bethel heavy mayor Julie Winter crafted and "strengthened" the decree that directly opposes the wishes and desires of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Being homeless in Redding California is now essentially a crime Not only that during a wicked snow storm the Parkview homeless tent camp was devastated. Imagine a thin piece of plastic or tent between you and 8 inches of snow as you spent the long hours of the night sleeping ... suffering... As early morning photos and v...
