I normally make it a habit when taking photos of suffering homeless souls languishing on the streets and sidewalks of downtown Redding early in the morning not to show their faces.
This photo is a rare exception.
I wanted to document her, and her location you see, because walking barefoot in and around 112-degree weather will certainly seriously damage your feet.
And that's exactly what this homeless woman has been doing on Pine and Tehama St across from Gas 4 Less.
Oh I cannot imagine the double entendre horrors of not only being homeless, but black as well.
The full gambit of economical, mental AND racial discrimination wrapped up indeed, in what Shasta County is proving time and time again to be true, that no matter how many signs you put up that we have "no room for racism."
We dont, because visually we are chock full up and running over the sides with it.
I show this womans face in hopes of folks lavishing her with love, cold drinks, food, footwear, and the possibility of getting off the cruel streets of downtown Redding.
Even more so perhaps a news organization will pick up her story and magnify the hope and desires of love and compassion generated towards her.
To whoever gave her that Beautyful blanket......Bless you, In Jesus Name.

I've donated hundreds of new and near new clothing and shoes to Good News Mission. Why so many still going without?
I used to give to the Mission but the majority of homeless whom need those items aren't staying at the mission & the mission let's anyone take from their donation closet along with their workers.
So what my block has been doing instead for the past 2 years is taking those bags of clothing/shoes right down to behind the library.
There are always people there that you simply tell them you have free clothing and they come unload the car for us.
Another good place to take them is to the Laundry Mat next to Poppies Pizza on Lake Blvd on the 3rd Monday of each month that Laundry Mat participates in the "Free Laundry" program from 8-2 that my friend started & now has churches & Laundry Mats participating in (they will do 3-double load washers of laundry per/person & even provide the good brands of detergent for too.
And now the "Wishy Washy" Laundry Mat, next to the Ace hardware store on hwy273 participates in the "Free Laundry" program too - but I believe it's on a Sunday. (You can check the actual schedule on Wishy Washy s Facebook page)
Usually Dan & the guys provide coffee & bottled water in the morning & serve something simple for lunch to those who are there doing their laundry. Plus other churches on occasion bring food bank giveaways & clothing to give away t
So I recommend that if you really want to help those on need of clothing/shoes that you go to where they are allowed to hang out so it is directly in the hands of those whom need it the most.😁✌️🙏
