A LOVE CHALLENGE to Redding POLICE, BETHEL CHURCH SCHOOL and MINISTRY !

Bill Johnson Senior Pastor Bethel Church

2/19/19 - CHALLENGE FAILED

Parkview homeless tent city after suffering through a devastating snow storm was destroyed by Redding police and volunteers from Shasta Support Services. Homeless report day after snow storm a homeless veteran was found dead from elements "hugging a trash can."

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?  Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.  A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit  Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire  Therefore by their fruits you will know them."

Matthew7: 15-20

There is a new organization starting up I believe the name of it is "Based on a true story" and wants to help the homeless..
There are men, women, children, and vetrens out there.. a lot of them not by choice..
God says "beware of the ones you refuse to help in times of need, they could be angels in disguise sent to test your faith....
This new organization is non profit and will be working with local law enforcement, hoapitals, and the community to help take control of Shasta county without violence..
They will be donating a percentage of whatever donations they receive..
Worth checking out on facebook..

I appreciate your attention to this matter. Most people, as you aptly report are not homeless by choice, but suffer due to the job market (many Bethel students take jobs that natives need), a lack of affordable housing and most of all, a lack of local love by the megachurch on the hill. The prosperity theology espoused by Johnson and crew is causing the homeless situation to worsen, instead of getting better. What is needed is a loosening of land so a legal campground could be built for those who choose to camp. To have illegal camping in a city surrounded by forests is really stupid. I have heard local pastors say to me that the homeless "smell," that they will not support paying for affordable, HUD housing for the homeless and as you pointed out, they do not care, no matter how religious they appear.
